Position summary:

The Operations Maintenance position includes butis not limited to: 

Overseeing all aspects of maintenance and repairs of machinery, mechanical production equipment and rolling stockIn this role, you need a solid knowledge of basic mechanical tools and service diagnostic equipment. To accomplish this, you will need to follow quality, environmental and safety policies,and procedures as you troubleshoot production equipment throughout the facility. In addition,you will play a key role in operations as you perform adjustments to assets and assist operators when they have issues with equipment. You will evaluate, repair,and ensure precise equipment maintenance records are maintained. You will also monitor inventory. Minor vehicle maintenance and repairs will also be conducted (change oil, plugs, tires, lights) Lastly, you will conduct monthly maintenance on elevators, conveyors, and all moving equipment. This role works under the direction of the location Manager.

What will you do:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct regular maintenance on machinery and rolling stock  

  • Work with the rest of the team to better understand concerns and identify issues  
  • Assemble mechanical components according to specifications 
  • Design an action plan for all maintenance and upgrades 
  • Maintain work logsrepair, and maintenance records   
  • Maintain a safe and neat work environment  
  • Be willing to help with daily operations to better serve our customers  

 Who are you: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+years in a manufacturing environment preferred 
  • 1+ years in Grain /Millwright preferred 
  • Background in agriculture through education or experience preferred  
  • Background in equipment: including Pumps, motors, conveyors, pressure valves, plumbing and various power sources.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment

Qualifications needed:

  • Demonstrate Wenger's Core Values  

  • CDL or able to obtain a CDL  
  • Ability to work overtime  
  • Must be able to climb and work at heights 100' and higher 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team  
  • Adaptable to change  

Desired skills:

  • Basic millwrights' skills
  • Basic mechanics skills
  • Basic welding/torching skills
  • Knowledge in grain handling 
  • Basic plumbing skills  

  Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repeatedly and up to 100 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in high places
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in dusty conditions
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties inclduing bending/stooping, climbing, open close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammers and work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to stand 95% of shift
  • Must be able to change tires
  • Must have basic electrical knowledge
